European Network of Smoke-free Hospitals & Maternity Services

ENSH was created in 1996 and its goal is to promote the policy of smoke-free hospitals in Europe, whilst demonstrating the importance of taking into consideration the problem of tobacco addiction. The basic criterion of a smoke-free hospital is a smoke-free environment to protect non-smokers: no smoking anywhere in the hospital, inside or outside. In addition, a smoke-free hospital also provides active support for smokers in their quitting process.
